Dear Parent/Legal Guardian,
Effective September 2020, we are pleased to announce the rollout of our 1:1 program for every student in Grade 4 - Grade 12. Each student in Grade 4 to Grade 12 will receive a Chromebook, Headphones, Charger and Case (herein referred to as “Equipment”).
Our 1:1 program is about learning and not technology! This program will inspire our students with hands-on learning and can be used to promote creativity in the classroom. This innovative tool has the capability to provide personalised learning and education in a number of different subject areas. The device allows students to gain access to a continually growing bank of educational content.
Please refer to our Equipment Protocol for more information.
To support this program there are a few factors that need to take place:
- Parents/Legal Guardians must complete the following Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board Assumption of Responsibility for Borrowed Equipment Form prior to the child receiving the assigned equipment:
- Any equipment borrowed by the student in the spring of 2020 must be returned. These devices should be charged and brought to the school on the first day. If your student is attending a new school within the board, the device should be returned to the new school.
As we receive the equipment back, our tech teams will clean, assess and reset the equipment for redeployment as quickly as possible.
To support our 1:1 program we have put together a list of frequently asked questions that can be found at the end of this letter.
If you have any further questions or concerns please email [email protected]
We are looking forward to welcoming your student back in September!
