School Council 2011-12

PARENTS!  THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO GET

INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL THROUGH OUR
PARENT SCHOOL COUNCIL!

 Welcome to another school year!

An important part of our life at Sacred Heart School is our School Council.  This volunteer committee coordinates a number of activities at our school that attempt to:

      • connect home, parish and community with the school
      • encourage parental participation in their child’s education
      • enhance the social environment of the school
      • provide advice regarding policy and guidelines development

           

Please consider being a volunteer, or nominate another parent from our school community for the 2011-12 School Council.  This is a wonderful opportunity to become more involved in your child’s education, and to work with other volunteers to make your child’s experience at Sacred Heart School the best it can be!  Both men and women are needed on School Council.  Click here to open the nomination form for the current school year.

The term for parent volunteer is one year, and Council meets approximately six to eight times per year for 1 ½ to 2 hours with the time of meetings set by Council.  Some members of Council also help out with sub committees.  Parent representatives on School Council must have a child in the school and be tax supporters of Catholic Schools.  A  maximum of 12 parent representatives are needed.  Nominations will be accepted until September 19th , and an election will be conducted during last week of September, only if numbers warrant.  The Executive for the coming year will be elected at the first Council meeting in October.
